With gas prices all over the place, you can save time and money by researching prices in your area before you leave you home. The following websites allow you to find gas prices in your area:

1. Mapquest: I was given a list of the top 35 lowest prices for gas in my area. Mapquest gives the name of the stations, the price, and a link to the map in the form of a list on the left side of the page, as well as locations marked on the map. Mapquest is very user friendly.

2. GasBuddy.com: GasBuddy.com allows you to search by zip code, or city, and state. For my area I was given 2 stations, the prices, and a link to a map. Users may join the site and members earn points for posting gas prices, and participating in different areas of the site. Points are then used to participate in website contests. There are quite a few advertisements on the site which I found to be very distracting.

3. Fueleconomy.gov: Fueleconomy.gov has a map with clickable states. When you click your state you are taken to a list of websites that has information for different areas of your state.

4. Automotive.com : Automotive.com has the clearest and easiest to use site of all that I have found for gas prices. You begin by either entering your zip code and searching, or searching by state. There is an ad that shows after you click submit, but once you close the ad you are given an easy to read table listing the local stations with prices. Under each station is a link for directions that brings you to a map and directions.
