last year we made the resolutions to:
1) use my own grocery bags
2) buy more local products (farmers market, local artisans for gifts)
3) not buy any meat from the supermarket
4) install a system to collect rain water for the garden
we did pretty well- a few times I forgot to put my grocery bags back in the car, and I did buy some grocery store meat a few times in a pinch.
I'm trying to come up with more resolutions for this year....ideas?

Our resolution this year was to unplug anything that isn't being used. We already faithfully turn off lights, but little thing that you don't think about with lights on them like the microwave and chargers use up a lot of unneccessary energy. I read that any charger uses the same amount of electricity when its plugged it whether it's actually charging something or not. Sorry to ramble...but that's our resolution. Hope it helped! :)

These are all the great resolutions for the new-year 2010 and all are the great plans and may this year bring peace, prosperity and happiness all over the world and we must become a part of this big aim.

I saw something on the TV about unplugging or using a power strip so you can turn off the power to those same items and the family reported a huge savings. The only exception was the TV. If you unplug that for long then it all had to be rescanned and setup ( big pain) computers they say uses an
lot of electricity when in the off position but on standby??? So I just power down everything and then turn off the strip.
