My kids brought home some "reindeer food" from school to sprinkle outside. This is a new tradition for us so I'm a little confused. Are we supposed to sprinkle it in the grass / snow or on the roof. And then do DH and I have to go out and make paw prints in the snow? Any ideas?

My sister sprinkles it in the front yard, but we've never done it either. The kids can probably see it better in the front yard, and I'm sure the reindeer would come down from the roof to eat such a wonderful snack.

We've never done it either, but I agree with Candace....I think they would come down to eat it.

We do it every year. The kids LOVE it. Just sprinkle it in the grass. We sprinkle it in a pile, and then the reindeer come and move it around when they eat it as proof they were there. :)

Oh - what memories!!! We would always sprinkle it in the grass. Our reindeer food consisted of oatmeal and glitter....that way the reindeer would be sure to see it.

i sent reindeer food home with my class this year, it was bird seed in a lunch bag decorated like a reindeer. I put a poem on it about how everyone remembers to put our milk and cookies for Santa, but the reindeer are hungry too! It was really cute!

In one of the packages I offer with my Letters from Santa reindeer food is included. It comes with a cute little poem card and it is oatmeal and glitter. Unfortunatly this year my sales were way down I only had two letters ordered when I usually do around 38-40.
