We'll, I'm off early to get ready for our long, exhausting but exciting weekend. DH works with the band, and I'm going along to chaparone and cheer on our group of High Schoolers competing in the WBA championships. I'm so excited and proud of my DS! Here he is practicing for his solo: http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/b...0pics/Cody.jpg

Am I asking too much for my 18 year old to NOTICE things once in awhile? Like the garbage can is overflowing into the floor? Or that her clothes hamper is full?? And then actually DO SOMETHING about it???
She KNOWS that I expect the new house to be clean all the time right now because people are dropping by to see it. I get up every morning mad at her. she doesn't want to make her bed or clean her room or unload the dishwasher and we have to tell her EVERY move to make to get any thing out of her at all.
Before anyone thinks I have lost my mind, she is ALWAYS here. She has 11 hours of class a week and then she and her "fiance" are piled up on my couch eating my food and making a mess. She doesn't think she should EVER have to do anything. And she is only passing ONE of her classes.
Thanks for listening to me whine. I just don't know what else to do!

I've been without my oven for a week. It has been quite a challenge remembering it when I am planning out my meals. I am hoping we will receive the new parts in the next couple of days. I made pizza dough in the bread maker without thinking day before yesterday and was getting ready to make yeast roll dough last night. Thankfully I remember before getting the dough going and ended up just making a loaf of bread in the bread maker. We had spaghetti one night and I had the garlic toast ready to go in the oven. :giggle: That is easily put in a skillet and browned on each side though. In the shortest time they gave us, we will get it Sat or Mon. The longest, the day AFTER Thanksgiving. :jawdrop: Yah, praying it comest before Wednesday!!!

Last night as I TRIED to take a cat nap at 7:00 - my dd says to me "You better rest up Linda, you have a long night ahead" HA - guess who almost fell asleep during the Twilight movie.

I must have been delirious when I told dd I would take her to see the premier of "New Moon" - as I found out yesterday that 15 theaters were sold out (there is only 16 where we went) 1700 tickets. They showed Twilight at 9:00 and if you went to that one, you could just stay seated and wait for "New Moon". So my friend went yesteray and got us tickets for that showing too. Best $10 that I've ever spent...New Moon was suppose to start at 12:01, but didn't start until 12:20 because they were still trying to seat people. First time in my life I've ever spent 7 hours in a movie theater....Great movie, great fun, great memories.

Got home at 3 this morning, up at 6, kids at 7:15-4:00...Working bingo (for softball) tonight 5-11ish....it's going to be a looonnnnnnggggg day.

Finally I have had a couple of days of energy and so far today I feel pretty good too. Wednesday I was on the go all day from unloading a fundraiser at 7.. to BSF at 9... to lunch and Christmas shopping with a friend at 12.. to sorting a sorority fundraiser at 3.. to home to make dinner for the family and then DD and I were off again to see the Penn State Glee Club perform. Yesterday I DEEP cleaned both baths, our bedroom, got DS's room ready for him to come home today and organized and deep cleaned the spare room where we keep the games ect. DH made me stop after dinner because he was worried I would have a rough day today.. but I feel good. This AM I am going to clean the kitchen and living room and dining room and head off to Sams Club and then to the playoff game tonight. I look at it this way I am normally exhausted and run down anyway.. so if I was burned out after cleaning its not like I am not used to feeling that way. But boy after a year of chemo and fighting fatigue and just doing the basics it felt good to be so productive. Most days it took all my energy to get the laundry done, meals cooked and keep the house picked up and clutter free not to mention help take care of Gram. I would then have to decide between fun with family and friends or cleaning with any energy that was left. Of course family and friends won every time as it should be. I have been praying so hard during my morning devotional time for energy and to be able to take care of my home again and not to fill burdened by it all. Prayers were answered.

DD had to deliver some fruit from a fundraiser after school and she called from her cell to ask... Is Daddy there...? ( in that .. I need my Daddy voice). He was just pulling in our driveway and she then told him her car is acting weird when she makes a left turn..kind of locking up on her. DH told her to bring it home and he would check it out.( and then he paced to floor for the 10 min it took her to get home because he was worried about her driving it) Of course I am thinking its going to be something major and involve a huge bill. DH took it for a drive , came home and checked the power steering fluid, added some because it was low and had DD drive it again. That time it was fine and it was fine when she took it to work tonight. Whew!!!!! Smart man that Daddy is.

Chocolate Nemesis Cake

•1/2 c. water
•1 c. sugar, divided!
•1 Lb. bittersweet chocolate, chopped (See Notes)
•2 sticks unsalted butter, cut up
•7 large eggs, at room temperature

Preheat oven to 325F. Grease bottom and sides of 9–inch springform pan. Line bottom of pan with parchment paper (See Notes). Dust side of pan with flour. Set pan on sheet of heavy-duty foil and wrap foil up the sides of pan to prevent water from leaking in during baking. (You may need to double-seam fold two sheets together to make a very wide piece of foil — you want the foil at least halfway up the sides of the springform.)

In a heavy saucepan over medium-high heat, disolve 1/2 c. sugar in the water, stirring occasionally. Add chocolate and butter, stir until completely melted and mixed. Remove pan from heat and cool chocolate 15 – 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, beat eggs wtih remaining 1/2 c. sugar at high speed until mixture thickens and roughly triples in volume, about 6 – 8 minutes. Using a wire whisk, gently fold in the melted chocolate mixture, completely blending in. Take care to not deflate the whipped eggs. (See note)

Pour batter into springform pan and set inside a large roasting pan. Set an oven rack at the middle height in the oven and place the roasting pan on the rack. Pour enough boiling water in the roasting pan to come halfway up the side of the springform pan. (I angle a large pot lid over the springform to protect the cake from splashes or bad aim. School of hard knocks there, folks.)

Bake the cake for 25 – 35 minutes until the edges just begin to set and a thin crust forms on the top. Carefully remove the springform from the water bath and let cool on a rack. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

About 30 minutes before serving, remove from refrigerator, run a knife around the edges to loosen the pan, then remove the foil and side of springform. Invert on a plate, remove the parchment paper and turn cake right side up on a serving plate.

This is not a really pretty cake but it makes up for it in taste. it isn't really that difficult if you really pay attention.

IT IS WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!! IT IS FABULOUS!

 Wednesday I was at the HS sorting fruit for a fundraiser at 7AM. DD had a headache the night before and when she got to the school at 7:30 she found me to say her head still hurt. Of course with all the swine flu fears out there I was convinced she was coming down with it. So I told her that I was heading to Bible Study and my phone would be on silent.. but text me if it got worse and I would have her come home. So I am sitting in my discussion group and I feel it vibrate. I try to casually look at my phone without being noticed.. because cell phones are requested to be off and not used during Bible study. So I look at it and it is a text from DD and it says.

I have a 101 in my Statistics class.

That is not my idea of something I needed to know while I was in BSF.:giggle:

So we leave discussion group and head back into the main church for our lecture and I feel a vibrate again. I look at the phone and see I have missed a call from my brother. He normally leaves a voice mail so I checked for that.. nothing. I started to worry thinking something happened to Gram. I tried him several times that day only to have him return my call Wednesday night.. with exciting news. I am going to be an aunt.. finally!!!

To 7 Alpacas

Next Wednesday I am just leaving my phone in the car... its so much less stressful that way!:rolling grin:
