We have a section of our yard that we call the butterfly garden. We have two types of lantana, jasmine, bouganvillia, milkweed (we've got three monarch caterpillars on it right now) and plumbago in that section. One way I relax is to sit out on the back deck and watch the butterflies plays.
Buying big plants can be expensive, so we purchased them small and then let them grow bigger. It's take about a year to get it where I want it (although I'd love to have one more plant to fill a small hole) but it's been fun.
THIS IS NO ORDINARY HOUSEWIFE YOU'RE DEALING WITH!!!
I have perennial gardens that surround the house and yard. And we get a whole host of wildlife that come to enjoy it. I love sitting on the deck and watching the butterflies and hummingbirds come by for a meal.
And I agree with tampa mom....I buy small plants and let them grow. They'll be big soon enough...trust me.
My mom bought me a butterfly bush last year for mother's day. I planted it right outside the window where I work. It's so beautiful and relaxing to see them fluttering around the bush all day!
