I need some help! I will be running DD3s Brownie group this coming year, I've never led a group before, just helped with the other 2, so this will be new and hopefully fun. But, I was wondering if you guys could tell me what kinds of things your troops did? I'm pretty good with the Try It ideas, I really want some fun crafts or field trips that worked for you, fun theme nights, etc. So, any ideas? Thank you!!!

My daughter just started her 2nd year as a Junior, and I'm a life-long scout myself. You'll have a great time!

Will you be going to leader training? I'm not sure how your Scout Service Unit will be run, but ours had monthly meetings for leaders in our School-District.

It's an invaluable source for info, and they plan district wide events like bowling, sock-hops, International Day Fairs, etc. Most organized by older scouts!

There's an online forum for scout leaders/moms that I've been to, but I didn't bookmark it. Let me rummage around and see if I can find it. They were overflowing w/ ideas, too.

Our girls were all about the field trips! Any where we could go, anything we could do. All the zoos and museums in our area offer special scout programs that help them earn a badge. Also, most offer sleep-overs, which is especially cool at the zoo.

We also like to take tours of local vet's offices, pizza parlors, ice cream shoppes, post office, police station, etc. That's the best part of being a leader - getting to go w/ your girls to do things the public isn't invited to!
