I am volunteering at a senior center teaching 90 year olds with brand new lap tops. It is very fun. But I am trying to stay one click ahead of my students. Does anyone know of any curriculum for seniors. Or does anyone have any ideas for fun class projects beside making a new folder and putting stuff in it? Thanks, Spike

That is very admirable of you, Spike. How about easy stuff like copy and paste or drag and drop ? Just some ideas. I'll certainly let you know if I find anything like that.

What about having them make a memory book about their lives, including stories and pictures?
You could help them learn to make birthday, aniversary, thinking of you and holiday cards for loved ones. Thank you cards are always appropriate to give. You could help them to use different fonts and different layout setups to make some fun and memorable letters to send to others. This may be a computer age but letters are more valuable to receive than ever before, as they are a dying art form as well as form of communication. |
