My little sister is having a baby next month and I'm looking for a creative gift idea to give her. Something that is different from the usual clothes and diapers. Anyone have any ideas?

How about a diaper cake? There are tons of info on the net. You can google it, or someone here might have a web address you can go too. I got one when my last daughter was born and they are really nice.

Do you quilt or sew? I have a friend who always makes small quilts and personalized burp cloths as baby shower gifts.

What about a diaper bag with some diapers, wipes and other little things she might need?

Do you know the babys name? I love monogrammed gifts - they are so personal and special. Maybe a special cross for the babys room. I got 2 beautiful crosses when my daughter was born. One said this child is blessed and the other said for this child I have prayed. I like gifts that when you look at them it brings back a special memory of a person. I know who gave me both of them.
Long story short - I like gifts that people remember who gave them. |

I like to give wind chimes- really nice quality ones- for new babies and for newlyweds. I've gotten comments from friends that when they hear them they think of that special time and think of the person who gave them the gift.

Homemade frozen meals that can just be taken out and heated in the microwave or oven.
One share of stock in a favorite company. . . go to www.oneshare.com You don't have to pay a bunch of fees, etc.

If she needs clothes, but you want it to be special, give her a clothing bouquet. Fold the onesies or whatever into strips then put something for a stem on one end and roll. (I use braided green pipe cleaners. I bend a couple into leaves as well for the stems.) Tie a pipe cleaner to the end and twist into the base of the rose. Bunch them as a bouquet and use a pretty tissue paper around it. (Just like the florist would do.) Our local florist has even given me a box once for a long spray bouquet, with a window in it. Good luck!

I made a nappie cake out of cloth diapers I bought online (DiapersASAP.com). They were a hit with friends. They know me as a huge cloth diaper supporter.

Creating and giving a Baby Gift Basket can be very enjoyable. There are a lot of amazing baby items that you can contain in it. Designing the basket also allows you the opportunity to be artistic as well.
