Smile I need answers please about the post office.

i have a question.. I bought a laptop off the computer and i received it damaged what happens with a claim at the post office?

I think you have to contact the company you bought the computer from first.

Keep ALL packaging and contact the seller. The USPS claims process recently changed and I don't remember all the details. Contact the seller first. You might call the post office and ask them. If the seller did not properly pack, then USPS will deny the claim.

HOW did you pay for the laptop? If you used PayPal and/or a credit card, you have options to make a claim. BUT you have to follow certain procedures and file claims within a certain time frame.

I agree. Contact the seller first. Then get the information directly from the sources for any follow up. That would be USPS or credit card/PayPal, however you paid. Be sure to find out if any of them have a specific instructions on informing them of other options you have pursued. Good luck to you.

I would agree with Rachel about first contacting the company you bought the computer from. Was it insured?

Ok i contacted the seller she said to go to the post office with the info she gave me..i paid with paypal. And she packed it really good and i still got broke but the label was also really wet when i got the package. The seller said if i make a caim most time you get to keep the merchandise. Im not trying to be stingy but i did want the computer in the first place but then it got damaged, not happy about that, but it would be nice for them to pay for it because i didnt break it the carriers did.
